At ACTS Uganda we support the Children’s Centre at Wobulenzi, central Uganda to provide services for children with disabilities and their families. This place is a lifeline to Children and their families who require routine occupational therapy, physiotherapy, social outreach, psychosocial and medical support. The staff also aim to address wider social issues around disability, giving the community education and promoting inclusion. The Centre reaches out to children and their families from farther afield throughout the greater Luweero area, comprising of 3 districts. There are no other services for these children in this area of Uganda.
At ACTS Uganda we value all the support you can give, whether that is prayer or financial. We value planned regular giving through standing orders, as that helps us to budget more reliably. We also plan a number of fundraising activities to make up the gap between regular giving and the asked-for £1000 per month, and here are two things we’re inviting you to join in with:
Firstly, do you have left over currency from a holiday abroad? Maybe you will go somewhere different next year, and you’ll never use that currency again. ACTS Uganda can take any foreign currency, including coins, even if its obsolete, and turn it into therapy sessions for children with disabilities! We can also take any obsolete sterling. Please check the back of the wardrobe, down the sofa….
Secondly, we can also sell good quality books of any kind, including professional books and textbooks. They should be complete with a barcode, no missing or loose pages. So have a clear out of your bookshelves, and help fund the Children’s Centre in Uganda.
Please send by post (if you prefer) your Foreign currency to Margaret Mockford, Email: margaret.mockford@gmail.com or hand it to any of the ACTS Uganda representative at Taunton Vineyard, Ruth at St James Church, John Buckley at Wellsprings chapel and Heather at Westfield church, Bridgwater.
