In 2015, while walking through the Kampala slums, the Founder of this great charity came across a young disabled child sitting alone in the mud. She had been left unattended, forced to eat, sit, and relieve herself in the same place. He continued on his way, but the image of that helpless child stayed with him. It was a moment that stirred something deep within him — a conviction that no child should ever be left to suffer in silence.
This experience became the seed of a mission.
Our non‑profit organisation is a registered Christian charity founded by a Ugandan, for Ugandan children living in extreme poverty. Children with disabilities have long been marginalised, overlooked, and denied the dignity they deserve. We work alongside organisations that champion independence, inclusion, and advocacy for children with disabilities across Uganda. Our focus begins with the most vulnerable — children living with disabilities — because every child deserves care, dignity, and the chance to thrive.
About Penny
Penny’s life was a quiet battle from the very beginning. Living with profound multiple learning disabilities (PMLD), she depended entirely on the kindness of others just to survive. Every day was a struggle — not because she lacked potential, but because she lacked the support every child deserves.
When her story reached a small circle of Christian friends, something powerful happened. They didn’t turn away. They prayed. They wept. And they gave — not out of abundance, but out of love. Their compassion opened the door to professional care that Penny’s family could never have imagined and or, afforded.
What followed was nothing short of remarkable.
For the first time, Penny began to engage with the world around her. She laughed. She played. She interacted with other children. Her body grew stronger; she shed excess weight as she learned to mobilise with the help of standing frame‑based exercises. The child who once seemed locked away inside her own limitations began to shine.
All of this, every smile, every step, every moment of connection was made possible by simple acts of kindness from people who chose to care. Penny’s transformation taught us something unforgettable: love, when put into action, can change the world — one child at a time.
