Dear Friends and supporters,
2024/25 has been an amazing year and we cannot thank you enough for keeping the charity afloat throughout the year. As the Treasurer, I want to begin by expressing heartfelt thanks for every donation, prayer, and act of support we’ve received. Your generosity is truly the lifeblood of our work with ALLEVIATE (ACTS Uganda) in Uganda, and we continue to see the flow of funds as an answer to prayer and a sign of God’s provision.
Our aim is to send £3,000 each quarter to help cover the costs of providing vital services with Ugandan based charity. We have been able to fulfill this, however, this quarter we’ve had to send less than that target amount which may make things difficult delivering services the children are dependent on.
Despite these challenges, we remain hopeful and deeply grateful. Every pound received makes a difference, and we are constantly encouraged by the fundraising efforts and the faithful support of our community.
As trustees, we’ve been reflecting on how to secure more consistent funding. One key step we’re exploring is building a network of regular donors. To help with this, we’re planning to offer talks about the charity. If you feel able to host us—whether in your home, church, workplace, or community group—we would be so grateful. Please do get in touch if this is something you can help with.
Looking ahead, we’re preparing to be bold and brave with our next fundraising event: a 12-hour singing celebration entitled “Joy to the World”, planned for December (date to be confirmed). It promises to be a joyful and uplifting day, and we hope you’ll come along, bring friends, and help us spread the word. More details will follow soon—watch this space!
Finally, I want to share something personal. I’ve had the privilege of serving as Treasurer since the charity’s inception, and it’s been a role I’ve taken on with faith and commitment. However, I’m aware that there may be someone with more experience in financial management who could take this role forward. I would love to continue serving as a trustee, but I’ve been praying that someone might feel called to join us specifically as Treasurer. If that’s you—or someone you know—please do reach out.
With gratitude and hope,
Ruth Preater-Gillard -Treasurer & Trustee
